Participating Organizations
The Observing Civic Engagement (OCE) Lab partners with a variety of civil society organizations (CSOs) to study how civic engagement happens in communities. The following organizations have agreed to be publicly recognized for their participation in our research.
The Bloomington Coin Club is a local organization dedicated to numismatics—the study and collection of coins, currency, and related artifacts. Open to collectors of all levels, the club provides a friendly community for enthusiasts to share knowledge, showcase their collections, and discuss historical and cultural aspects of coinage. | The Bloomington Newcomers & Neighbors Club (BNNC) is a social organization in Bloomington, Indiana, dedicated to helping residents connect and form friendships. Open to all local residents, regardless of how long they've lived in the area, BNNC offers general meetings and various interest groups to encourage members to learn more about Bloomington and share common interests. Kiwanis is an organization of dedicated volunteers committed to making a positive impact on children’s lives. Kiwanis brings together community members, friends, and neighbors who are passionate about serving and supporting kids in need. With a mission focused on creating meaningful change, SCI Kiwanis works to make a difference in Bloomington, helping ensure that children have caring adults in their lives and the opportunities they deserve. | The Bloomington Sunrise Rotary Club is a chapter of Rotary International located in Bloomington, Indiana. The club meets weekly on Wednesdays at 7:00 AM at The Village Deli on Kirkwood Avenue. Members engage in various service projects and community initiatives, reflecting Rotary's motto of "Service Above Self."
